The road to Opening Day 2026 rolls on for the Yankees. Spring training games continue for the Bronx Bombers. The club has seen some prospects, like Carlos Lagrange, are impressing while others, like Jasson Dominguez, could be heading to the minor leagues. There are also some new faces, as Randal Grichuk signed with the club last week.
Fortunately for the Yankees, manager Aaron Boone announced a positive update before first pitch Sunday. Boone said Bellinger’s back improved and that he is scheduled to go through live batting practice on Tuesday. Boone added that Bellinger is expected to return to game action Thursday (h/t Bryan Hoch of MLB.com).
New York Yankees fans know when they can expect to see Aaron Judge play in Spring Training.
Will Warren delivered 3.2 scoreless innings as the Yankees improved to 8-2 with a 5-3 spring training win over the Phillies.
“First time in three years out there for a spring training start,” Painter said when asked by Tom McCarthy and Ruben Amaro Jr. on NBC Sports Philadelphia if he was as excited as the team’s fanbase. “Anytime you go that long without throwing the ball or doing that sort of stuff there are always some juices flowing.”
Here are five observations from the Yankees’ first week of spring training games:
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — The New York Yankees have invited veteran outfielder Randal Grichuk to major league spring training. The 34-year-old Grichuk has agreed to a minor league contract. He hit .228 with nine home runs and 27 RBIs last year for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Kansas City Royals.
After striking out a two-time batting champion, three-time Silver Slugger Award winner and former All-Star, Will Warren walked off the mound, having given a glimpse of his ceiling.
A player on the New York Yankees was scratched from the lineup on Saturday.
